Up the river

Up the river
To a place
More than a sliver
Of good grace

Friends to wine
Friends to laugh
Friends to dine
And offer bath

River beautiful
River strong
Never ever still
River song

Verdant wood
Offers peace
Music stood
Welcome lease

Magical peace.

Crescent and Cross

Discernible crescent
Obvious Cross
Omnipresent
Neither to boss

If On A Bench

On a bench in dappled light
Thoughts of truth
Captured flight
No such proof.

Autumns wane
Winters come
Plutocrats bane
Less your sum.

Winters cold
To keep warm
Politicos bold
Grant you harm.

Keep your work
What you have
As they cork
Image, save.

On Thursday Morn…

On Thursday Morn

Four young deer
Root and rustle
Through autumn leaves
Very near
Out my window
In the wood
Camouflaged
For their good
While trees sway
To the melody
Of the breeze
Under milky
Cerulean sky.

January Two Thousand Five

I Walked by the sea today
Breathed of the ocean
Observed sandpipers reflections
The reflection of the second tower
The path the ocean takes to the pond
the neap tide…
Cartoons
New music
Nudes
Handicapped workers
Crab soup
Parka
Waterproof boots
Agreeable fragrance
Soft shirt
Free thought
Free walk.

Full Moon Above Adams Morgan

Full Moon Above

A trip to the west
Never too soon
Close to the vest

Full moon
Above Adams Morgan
Near the saloon

Malbec forgone
Old city spark
Sushi sing-song

A ride in the park
Warm weather
Soon before dark

Free from a tether
No need to dither

Bosphorus

Bosphorus

Black sea to the north
Sea of Marmara at the south
Fifty-five thousand ships go forth.

Istanbul resides on the mouth
Both sides bordering
A formal division couched,

To the west Europeans sing
In the east Asians toil
Suspension bridges bring.

Two miles across, the foil
Six thousand oil tankers
Carrying Russian Oil

Thirty-two Kilometers
Nearly four-hundred feet deep
Ancient war time barometer

Some fine authors tend to steep
Some fine authors love and keep.
